I probably over baked it a little but the flavor went well with the custard filling which I was surprised. The crust got a little crazy for me, it cracked. BUT I LOVE turmeric and it's medicinal properties. If you are not used to turmeric, or cardamon, then yes it may taste odd to you (see the first post). I love this recipe! I made it a little more gingery, it went well with the turmeric. ![]() Step 9ĭo Ahead: Pie can be made 3 days ahead. Top with coconut flake mixture before serving. Press a large piece of plastic wrap onto surface of pie and cool until set, at least 2 hours. Drizzle maple-turmeric syrup over and swirl decoratively by dragging the handle of a small spoon or chopstick through filling several times. Immediately pour custard into crust, filling as high as the crust allows without spilling over. Remove from heat and, working quickly, add coconut oil and stir until smooth.
